How to Search and Look Up Lead Records
When You Need Lead Search
As your lead database grows beyond a few hundred contacts, scrolling through lists becomes impractical. Search lets you find any contact in seconds. Common scenarios include a prospect calling your office and you need their record to see their history, a buyer disputing a lead and you need to pull up the original submission details, or a salesperson wanting to review notes before a follow-up call.
How to Search for Leads
In the Lead Generation app admin panel, navigate to your lead records list. The search function is available on pages that use the broadcastData table as their data source. Enter a search term in the search field to find matching records.
You can search by record ID for exact lookups, by email address to find a specific contact, by phone number to match a caller, or by name for general lookups. The search checks against the fields stored in each contact record in the broadcastData table.
When you find the record, click to view the full details. This shows all the information captured at submission time: name, email, phone, any qualifying data from the form, the source attribution, submission timestamp, and any notes added by your team.
From the record detail view, you can update fields, add notes, change the lead status, or trigger a follow-up action. If the lead needs to be contacted, you can see their phone number and email right on the record. If the lead is a duplicate, you can merge or remove it.
Batch Search and Export
When you need to look up multiple leads at once, use the batch search feature. You can submit a list of record IDs or email addresses and receive all matching records in a single response. This is useful for pulling reports on specific lead groups, verifying delivery to buyers, or auditing your database for duplicates.
The admin panel also supports exporting lead records. You can export filtered results to CSV for analysis in a spreadsheet, import into another system, or share with partners. Export includes all stored fields for each matching record.
Keeping Your Search Effective
Search works best when your data is clean. Standardize phone number formats at capture time (strip spaces, add country codes consistently) so searching by phone always finds matches. Use consistent email formatting (lowercase) so email searches are reliable. See How to Manage and Clean Your Lead Database for data quality practices.
